Every engagement begins by understanding what the material actually needs. Scope, fees, draft visits and creative responsibilities are agreed before work begins.
Project fit
Where useful, a complimentary 15-minute Project Fit Call establishes fit and the appropriate support. It is not a free script consultation and includes no detailed screenplay notes.
Initial Evaluation
Bespoke doctoring, screenwriting and ghostwriting projects go through a paid Initial Evaluation before a quotation. The fee and review material are confirmed in advance.
Scope & quotation
You receive the agreed service, deliverables, draft visits, consultation time, turnaround, fee and payment schedule.
Confirmation & payment
The booking is confirmed once the required agreement and payment or deposit have been received.
Development begins
Your project enters the agreed development process. New work or a substantial change in direction is discussed and scoped before continuing.
Confidentiality
Your story
stays yours.
All client screenplays, treatments, concepts, pitch materials, development documents and conversations are private and confidential. They will not be shared publicly or with third parties without permission.
NDAs are welcome and can be reviewed before confidential material is submitted. Confidentiality is part of the working relationship even without a formal NDA.
You retain ownership of your original material unless a separate writing, co-writing, adaptation or rights agreement explicitly states otherwise. For writing engagements, authorship, credit, copyright, usage rights and confidentiality are agreed in writing before writing begins.
Online & international
Malaysia · Germany. Working internationally.
Consultations and development meetings take place primarily online, with materials exchanged digitally. Haz works between Malaysia and Germany, with clients internationally. In-person sessions may be arranged separately where location and schedule permit.
Space for focused work
To protect the depth and quality of the development process, only a limited number of substantial projects are accepted at any one time. Availability and turnaround are confirmed during enquiry.
Before you enquire
A few practical questions.
Do I need to send the screenplay immediately?
No. Start with enough information to understand the project. Full materials are requested after the appropriate service or evaluation process has been established.
Is the first call free?
A complimentary 15-minute Project Fit Call may be offered where useful, particularly for consultancy, doctoring and writing services. It is not a free script consultation and does not include detailed screenplay notes. Straightforward Story Room or Script Diagnosis enquiries may not need a call.
What if I don’t know which service I need?
Describe your project and current challenge. Haz can recommend the appropriate support; choosing a service is optional.
Can I contact Haz on WhatsApp?
For new enquiries, use the Project Enquiry form or email contact@hazthescriptdoctor.com. After a successful form submission, you will receive an email acknowledgement. WhatsApp is generally used only after qualification or within an active working relationship.
