1. The service and agreed scope
Haz — The Script Doctor is the professional name used by Nor Hazlin Nor Salam / Nor Hazlin Di Prima. Visiting this website or making an enquiry does not itself create a service contract. Services are provided according to the agreed scope, deliverables, draft visits, consultation time, turnaround, fee and payment schedule.
Diagnosis assesses one draft and includes a 1-hour online video call. Story / Script Consultancy provides guidance and review across up to three drafts within the agreed scope; the client writes. Doctoring permits agreed active intervention. Screenwriting and Confidential Ghostwriting commission Haz to write under the agreed terms. Story Room sessions have no formal draft cycle.
2. Fees and Initial Evaluation
Fees for Story Room, Script Diagnosis and Story Consultancy are provided directly following enquiry and confirmed before work begins. Doctoring, screenwriting and confidential ghostwriting are individually quoted after Initial Evaluation.
Initial Evaluation is a paid service; the fee is confirmed before review and depends on the material. It is credited in full when the bespoke project is commissioned within 30 days of evaluation.
International projects may be quoted in MYR, SGD, USD or EUR; the quotation confirms the currency. Applicable taxes, third-party costs and agreed production expenses are stated separately in the quotation.
3. Confirmation and payment
Work is confirmed after the required agreement and payment or deposit have been received.
- The Story Room with Haz: 100% upon booking. The session is confirmed after payment.
- Script Diagnosis: 100% before reading begins.
- Story / Script Consultancy: Payment terms and delivery milestones are confirmed in the quotation.
- Script Doctoring: Normally 40% to commence; 30% when the Doctoring Plan is agreed and rewriting begins; 30% before final revised files.
- Screenwriting / Ghostwriting: Milestone billing is defined in the quotation. Final deliverables are released after the final balance.
For writing commissions, 30% / 30% / 30% / 10% is a common milestone example, not a universal schedule. The quotation defines the actual milestones.
4. Additional work, revisions and timing
Only stated draft visits and consultations are included. Additional reviews or sessions, extra episodes, overlength scripts and half/full-day writers’ rooms are separately quoted or charged at the confirmed current rate.
Major rewrites outside the agreed round or changes such as a new protagonist, substantial structural reset or new source material require discussion and a revised scope before work continues.
Rush work is subject to availability and may carry an additional fee, agreed in advance. Turnaround is agreed for the project; no universal completion deadline is promised.
5. Confidentiality, ownership and creative authority
Client materials and development conversations are confidential. NDAs are welcome. Original client material remains the client’s property unless a separate writing, co-writing, adaptation or rights agreement explicitly states otherwise.
The client retains final creative authority unless a separate writing or rights agreement states otherwise. Consultancy is advisory; doctoring implements agreed interventions. Authorship, public credit, attribution, copyright, usage rights, confidentiality and revision limits for writing commissions are agreed in writing before writing begins.
Client names, project names and creative excerpts are not used publicly without explicit permission.
6. No guaranteed commercial outcome
Script development does not guarantee financing, production, representation, sales, awards or festival selection. The purpose is to improve clarity, focus development effort, strengthen the screenplay and inform the next creative decision.
7. Cancellation, rescheduling and consumer rights
Please contact Haz promptly if you need to cancel or reschedule. Project-specific arrangements are provided before commitment. These general pages do not impose an automatic cancellation charge, non-refundable deposit or forfeiture.
Mandatory consumer rights, including any applicable withdrawal rights, are not excluded. Where relevant, statutory pre-contract information and any request to start work during a withdrawal period are handled separately before work begins. An enquiry does not waive those rights.
8. Governing law and final agreement
These general pages do not select an exclusive court or exclude protections available under applicable law. Any project-specific agreement remains subject to mandatory legal requirements.
No services can be booked or purchased through this review website. For questions, email contact@hazthescriptdoctor.com. Operator details are provided in the Legal Notice.
